A healthcare facility in New Jersey is actively seeking a patient-oriented and dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing staff. In this role, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation; including history and physical for complex hematology / oncology adult patients in the outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP):

  • Provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation
  • Performs inpatient hospital rounding as per provided schedule
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalities
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's disease-specific needs
  • Monitors the effectiveness of interventions prescribed
  • Facilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare settings
  • Provides education to patients, families, and significant others
  • Acts as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the public
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals

Qualifications:

  • Current New Jersey NP licensure
  • Certification in Oncology
  • Current BLS/ACLS
