Job Summary
Job Description
To prospective teammates,
I’m the medical director for the Sound Physicians hospitalist practice at St. Joseph Mount Sterling, located in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. I have been a part of Sound for six years. I continue to be impressed by the dedicated and cooperative team we’ve built. I welcome interest from physician assistants and nurse practitioners coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about our approach to patient care, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:
People
- We are a closely knit, established team of two physicians and three advanced practice providers, with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
- Our team members reside in various communities in Kentucky, including Richmond and Lexington, which is only a 30 minute commute from Mount Sterling!
- We are an integral part of the committees and function of the hospital because this is a small facility. Every member of the team has active membership in hospital committees.
- We also strongly support new NP and PA graduates and offer training in Hospital Medicine.
- Our team members do spend time together outside of work and some of us are neighbors in the same community.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU.
- Our hospitalist APPs play a vital role on the team by helping with admissions and managing patients with a supervising physician.
- Our monthly team meetings allow us to connect about what’s happening in our practice, at St. Joseph Mount Sterling, and across Sound Physicians.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families, and schedules can be flexible by arranging coverage with one another.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- A focus on growth and development is a key feature of our medical group, where you have opportunities to expand your career locally or within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
