Seeking a motivated, experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) for the CAMC Neurosurgery department.
The ideal candidate would bring attention to detail and a pleasant attitude to our team. The APP would be working with our team of Neurosurgeons, Endovascular Neurosurgeons and Orthopedic Spine surgeon. The position would include clinic, surgery, and hospital rounding responsibilities. Level I trauma call to be discussed.
The surgeon’s practice is diverse with a broad exposure to trauma and elective surgeries in a hospital setting. Surgical experience is a plus but not required.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates leadership as a clinical resource, interprofessional consultant, and patient advocate. Participates in rounding independently or with physicians/surgeons and attends interdisciplinary rounds, as appropriate, by specialty.
Collaborates to foster healthy relationships in the work environment. Acts as a role model and coaches staff in effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication. May serve as the first call for hospital staff.
Collaborates with interprofessional health care team members to manage/coordinate patient care.
Performs quality and safe diagnostic, surgical, and/or therapeutic procedures necessary for defined patient populations.
Provides first-assist and/or second-assist surgical services as needed. Cases to include trauma and elective neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery and orthopedic spine.
Performs independent or delegated functions under physician license according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/or standing orders.
Conducts comprehensive health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on defined patient populations. Performs accurate and timely documentation in medical records, including diagnosis and CPT coding.
Qualifications
Master's degree (Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner)
Graduate from the accredited Physician Assistant program by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) credential, licensed and credentialed by the West Virginia Board of Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioner (NP-C), licensed and credentialed by
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
