In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to corporate philosophy of OSFMG, the advanced practice nurse/physician assistant shall be responsible for: Providing high quality patient care to the patients of OSF. Providing such professional Advanced Practice services. Maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided to the Practice and its patients. Maintaining full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by Provider or other support staff. Exercising diligence in assisting the Ministry CEO in keeping costs of the Practice to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients. Providing a truly personalized, patient-centric experience to patients of the Practice and the OSF Hospital aligned to the patient's preferences, goals and needs.
The Neuro Science program is currently supported by 4 APPs, 2 are staffed each weekday and cover the 7a-7p shift. 1 covers 7a-7p each weekend. They are responsible for managing multiple aspects of the neuro inpatient service, including rounding, stroke alerts, documentation, med and test orders, take all calls from other interdisciplinary clinicians. They also assist with outpatient clinic visits, managing in-basket messages, test results, med questions and documenting for the visits as well as for the procedures.
