We are hiring for a Nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours

  • Join our close-knit team of five critical care physicians and three experienced critical care APPs at Southside Regional Medical Center.
  • Work alongside colleagues from various departments and disciplines to ensure that the highest level of care is provided to our patients.
  • Our APPs practice at the top of their licenses and enjoy a high level of autonomy in their practice.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • 3+ years of critical care physician assistant experience required
  • Active NP license or eligible to become licensed in Virginia.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Practice in the Heart of the Community

Flexible Scheduling:

  • This role is a nocturnist schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to patients in a 28-bed ICU (14 MICU and 14 CVICU) as part of a 300-bed hospital with Level III Trauma designation and a primary stroke center.
  • Demonstrate autonomous care within an ICU setting for medical and surgical patients with support from a full complement of medical subspecialists.
  • Exemplify skillful procedures, such as arterial and central lines, hemodialysis, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, intubation, endoscopy, EKG, paracentesis, thoracentesis, stress test, and vent management, where needed.
  • Utilize the EPIC EMR system.
