We seek a dedicated and experienced Hospitalist Physician Assistant to join our team in a 59-bed hospital in Northeastern South Carolina. This day shift position is conveniently located just 75 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina, and 100 miles from the white sandy beaches of the South Carolina coast.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shifts are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule
  • Admit adult patients through the Emergency Department
  • Accept direct patient admissions from community physicians
  • Perform pre-operative clearance for inpatient surgical cases
  • Provide consultations on medical management in collaboration with primary care providers and specialists
  • Evaluate potential admissions upon request
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary patient care conferences for utilization review and discharge planning
  • Conduct individualized patient and family care conferences for patients with a length of stay of five days or more
  • Respond to resuscitation codes and serve as a member of the Rapid Response Team
  • Manage care for patients in the Swing Bed Unit

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a hospitalist provider is required
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
