Job Title: Hospitalist/Nocturnist - Physician Assistant
Location: Pittsburgh, PA area
Salary: $110k-160k (Compensation is based on experience along with a full benefits package)

Shift Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (7 on / 7 off)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician to join our healthcare team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients during the night shift, ensuring continuity of care and optimal clinical outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients during the night shift, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
  2. Perform thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, diagnostic test interpretation, and treatment planning, adhering to established clinical guidelines and standards of care.
  3. Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, coordinate care with specialists and consultants, and address urgent medical needs promptly and effectively.
  4. Conduct interdisciplinary rounds, communicate patient updates, and collaborate with nurses, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  5. Respond to medical emergencies and provide timely intervention and stabilization of critically ill patients, demonstrating proficiency in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other relevant life-saving procedures.
  6. Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality metrics.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and educational activities to enhance patient care delivery, promote best practices, and contribute to professional development.
  8. Provide patient and family education, counseling, and support, offering clear explanations of medical conditions, treatment options, and care plans with empathy and compassion.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
  • Active medical licensure in the state of Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • ACLS certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Excellent clinical skills, diagnostic acumen, and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
