Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Gastroenterology (Permanent)
Location: Columbus, Indiana
Department: Gastroenterology
Schedule: Full Time, Days, 40 hours per week
Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 4 days per week and one half-day (half-day may be flexible)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology team. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care through assessments, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with physicians and staff. The position is primarily outpatient, focusing on medical management of gastroenterology conditions and preparing patients for screening colonoscopies. There is also an opportunity for limited inpatient rounding and consultation services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide outpatient medical management for gastroenterology patients.
Ready patients referred for screening colonoscopies.
Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Perform limited inpatient rounding and consultation services as needed.
Maintain comprehensive documentation using EPIC EMR.

Qualifications:
For Nurse Practitioner:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Masters degree in nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
For Physician Assistant:
Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training program.
Possess an unlimited Physician Assistant license from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board.
