Job Description
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician Assistant (PA) Program Director to help establish and lead a new PA Master's Program, anticipated to begin in Summer 2027. The Program Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and growing this innovative program, working closely with the School of Medicine leadership and university administration. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking institution with full support from both the School of Medicine and the university.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of the PA Master's Program.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Recruit, manage, and mentor PA faculty and staff.
- Design curriculum and educational strategies in collaboration with faculty and staff.
- Provide leadership and vision to create a robust and sustainable program.
- Report directly to the Associate Dean of Health Professional Education within the School of Medicine.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
- At least 3 years of experience in PA education, including leadership roles.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage academic programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and university administration.
