Family Practice Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner shall provide direct patient care in outpatient clinic setting at Fort Washakie, WY. Estimated 90% of time involved in direct patient care. In outpatient setting, physician assistant/nurse practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, treat, admit, and provide consultation to patients 18 years and older. Patients will present with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, reproductive, and genitourinary systems. Core duties include but are not limited to chronic disease prevention and management, complete physical exams, medication counseling, annual well-patient exams, and acute patient exams. The Fort Washakie clinic belongs to Warm Valley Health Care and serves a diverse user population of 10,964 Native American individuals.

FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Current full & unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia
  • PA Certification from NCCPA; NP Certification from AANPCB/AANP or ANCC
  • DEA Certificate
  • Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of one year of experience in the field
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Able to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  • Preferred: Behavioral Health experience

FAMILY PRACTICE/INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIAN PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
  • Remain in a stationary position with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information (face-to-face, listen, talk, type, etc.).
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and smell.
  • Use a computer keyboard intermittently, repeating the same movements (using wrists, hands, and fingers).
  • Have the ability to physically move or lift patients and use proper posture to avoid injury.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment ranges regularly from quiet to loud.

Pay: $115,000 - $135,000 per year

Qualifications

Physician Assistant: MSPAS/MMS/MHS and certified by the NCCPA; unencumbered state licensure
Nurse Practitioner: MSN/DNP and certified as an FNP by the AANP or ANCC; unencumbered state licensure
