THE TEAM
Our dynamic and compassionate Cancer Center team is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join us in providing exceptional breast oncology care. This is a full-time, employed position with CHRISTUS St. Vincent. You will primarily work in an outpatient setting, with potential surgical assisting and inpatient rounding. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a skilled team of professionals, delivering a comprehensive range of services, including preventive care, genetic counseling, breast cancer surgery, and reconstructive surgery, for both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions.

THE POSITION
As an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), you will:

  • See patients in the clinic for general care, high-risk assessments, imaging, survivorship, and follow-up appointments.
  • Partner with our MD team to manage benign patients through ongoing surveillance.
  • Provide genetic counseling, either independently or in collaboration with physician.
  • Handle same-day add-on appointments for urgent symptom management.
  • Collaborate with our fellowship-trained surgical breast oncologist to develop and expand a cutting-edge breast care program.
  • Practice at the full scope of your training in our outpatient care setting, with potential for surgical assisting.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care teams in a patient-centered, provider-led environment.
  • Work in a state-of-the-art cancer center equipped with the latest technology.
  • Leverage resources from our Mayo Clinic Care Network membership to support patient care.
  • Engage in clinical research and innovative care programs, including the Breast Cancer Navigation Program for Native American Women.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Master's Degree from an accredited training program.

Experience

  • Post-graduate experience in a comprehensive breast care program is preferred but not required. Newly certified providers may apply.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an NAPBC-accredited program or those working toward NAPBC accreditation.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Advanced Practitioner License in New Mexico (or ability to obtain) + CSR & DEA
  • Certification as an NP (ANCC or AANP) is required; AOCNP certification is preferred. or
  • Certification as a PA through NCCPA is required.
