**APP Family Medicine float opening - Butte County, California**
- Locations: Gridley/Arbuckle/Colusa
**About the Opportunity:**
- Full-time, permanent Float position
- Responsible to provide generalized health care services in a community health setting
- Determines which cases to refer to the physician for further diagnosis and treatments
- Assumes principle responsibility for the primary health maintenance of individuals of all ages with a complete spectrum of health problems
- Identifies the health status of patients by taking medical histories, performing examinations and initiating and evaluating screening and diagnostic procedures
- Initiated appropriate therapeutic intervention based upon assessment and evaluation of the health status of the individual and explains process to patient
- Plans and assumes responsibility for on-going health maintenance and clinical management of patients' emotional behavior, counsels and instructs individuals and families regarding domestic and health related problems
- Evaluates patients' emotional behavior, counsels and instructs individuals and families regarding domestic and health related problems
- Interprets and reviews laboratory tests; reviews medication refills
- Imitates orders for diagnostic laboratory and x-rays
- Serves as clinical consultant to nursing and paramedical personnel
- Assist with in-service trainings
- Performs nursing duties when necessary
- Coordinates work activities with families, community agencies and other members of the health team and has a thorough knowledge of community resources
- Performs additional tasks appropriate to background and training as assigned

**Professional knowledge, skills & abilities:**
- Possesses a valid license as a Registered Nurse issues by the State of California
- Possesses a FNP certificate from a program of not less than an eighteen (18) months education course, divided in two phase: the first comprised of twelve (12) months of both didactic and clinical work and the second comprised of six (6) months of supervised clinical internship
- Current CPR certificate
- Effective communication skills
- Effective time management skills
**Communications Skills:**
- Must have neat and legible handwriting
- Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly
- Must be able to interact with the public
**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:**
- Works well with patients, co-worker and vendors in a generally comfortable environment office
- Employee must possess the following physical requirements:
- Must be able to life up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels)
- Must have adequate vision to read increments on tuberculin syringe accurately
- Must be able to work on feet majority of the day without tiring
- Must be able to hear adequately for auscultation of B/PS
- Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensations on fingertips
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work. Must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting, turning
- Routinely exposed to blood borne pathogens
- May be subjected to verbally and/or unbehavior patients
- May be exposed to contagious/infectious diseases
