**Primary Care Nurse Practitioner opening in Washington** Located in Goldendale, WA 115 miles from Portland, OR - Full Time - Patient volume is 13-17/day - 3 or 4 day work week - No call - No OB - Medical/vision/Rx - HSA/FSA - Dental - Long term disability - Retirement plan - Medical services credit - Generous amount of Paid Time Off Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active/current RN license in Washington State. - Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited school recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. - Current unrestricted registration/license in Washington State as an Advanced Practice Nurse. - Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nursing preferred. - Current BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications required. Experience: - At least one (1) year recent full-time experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care medical setting is preferred. This provider will join 3 physicians, 1 DO and 6 mid-level providers in the Family Medicine Clinic. The clinic also offers an ExpressCare clinic, Pain Management, Behavioral Health, an Optometry department, and a Dental Clinic. General Surgery and Orthopedics available. Podiatry, Cardiology, Dermatology and Pulmonology specialists are regularly available as visiting physicians through our Specialty Clinic. Each FM provider has dedicated support staff including an MA and virtual scribe. Leadership structure in the clinic consists of a Medical Director (Physician), Clinic Manager, Clinic Support Staff Supervisor (RN) and Office Support Staff Supervisor. The EMR is Meditech Expanse and providers are supported by a Clinical Informatics RN. Group is a rural, critical-access hospital located in scenic Goldendale, Washington only two hours from Portland along the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. Offering emergency and acute inpatient care and a full scope of ancillary services including General Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, PT / OT, Behavioral Health, Dental, Pain Management, Optometry and Hospice. The hospital also owns a busy, well-established primary clinic that is located on the hospital campus. Inpatient care is managed by 24/7 Hospitalist staff. Hospital employs over 300 staff. General Summary: The Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) provides primary medical care and treatment for clinic patients in consultation with other physicians/providers in Family Medicine within his/her scope of practice (RCW 18.79.250). The Nurse Practitioner provides clinically competent quality care and treatment for the patient from initial taking of medical history, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care, etc. and demonstrates safe, clinical decision making and expert care for the patient; provides patient education regarding care and treatment, as well as recommendations for health improvement. The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with patients, families and other customers and works collaboratively with colleagues and departments throughout the organization to provide optimal outcomes for patients in a compassionate, professional, ethical and knowledgeable fashion consistent with the vision, mission and values. The Nurse Practitioner is aware of the potential exposure to internal and external hazardous materials, including but not limited to: blood and blood borne pathogens, infectious/communicable diseases, potential physical injury while caring for patients. Maintains a safe and clean environment for the care of the patient. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to): - Reviews data/information such as: vital signs, height and weight measurements, etc. obtained from the patient as part of the clinic visit. - Obtains patients health history (history and physical); performs various patient examinations/ physical assessments such as: pap tests, breast exams, general physicals, wellness exams, etc. (including biological, social and psychological needs); uses the principles of growth and development to assess each patients age-specific needs and provides age-specific treatment and care. - Diagnoses, treats and plans appropriate health care plan for patients (based on scope of practice) and establishes goals/objectives related to the plan of care based on the unique needs of the patient; assesses patients response to treatment and care; consults with and/or refers patients to other physicians/providers and/or outside agencies/facilities as required. - Diagnoses and treats acute/episodic minor illnesses (respiratory illnesses, ear and throat, gastrointestinal, genital urinary infections, dermatology, etc.) and other injuries. - Screens for the presence of chronic illnesses and monitors the ongoing treatment and therapy of patients with chronic stable illnesses by providing pharmacological and counseling interventions. - Performs a variety of procedures in the care of the patient, including but not limited to: suturing, cauterizing, skin biopsy, liquid nitrogen treatment, etc. - Determines the need for, orders and interprets x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, EKGs/ECGs, mammograms, diagnostic ultrasounds, etc. as needed. - Develops, initiates and maintains a preventative health monitoring program (cholesterol tests, blood pressure tests, diabetic screens, etc.) to assist patients with wellness care. - Follows procedures regarding the provision of patient care and documentation. - Completes patient program and billing records in a timely manner and in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, or requirements that may be set forth by contract. Orders/performs laboratory procedures and interprets lab test results for the patient. - Accurately records patient information and clinical data (chief complaint, symptoms, medical condition, history, allergies, immunizations, etc.) in the electronic medical record (EMR) to maintain the paperless charting system of the clinic. - Prescribes and/or provides medications, injections/vaccines, [Register to View] needed within scope of practice. - Provides patient education that facilitates recovery, self-care, health maintenance, health promotion and wellness; documents patient teaching, tools utilized and patient understanding. - Performs other duties as assigned.
