Physician Assistant Specialty Care – Quick Care – Columbia, MO

The University of Missouri School of Medicine's Department of Family & Community Medicine seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join the Mizzou Quick Care Clinics in the Columbia, MO area. This position is a dual posting with Nurse Practitioner – Quick Care (Job ID 53427), and only one position will be filled. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently while being supported by the University of Missouri Health Care (UMHC) Department of Family & Community Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care in a busy acute care clinic located within a retail grocery store.
  • Conduct physical assessments, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, and treat common conditions.
  • Prescribe medications for patients aged 24 months and older.
  • Utilize integrated medical records and paperless e-prescribing systems.

Clinic Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Weekends & Most Holidays: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an AMA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Missouri.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Must be licensed to treat patients across the lifespan, from infants to geriatric populations.
Candidates will be evaluated on:
  • Minimum of two years of experience is preferred.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
