Job Description
SSM Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Columbia, Illinois. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-quality primary and specialty care services to our patients. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and continuous patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Develop and implement patient management plans
- Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
- Adhere to all relevant medical laws and regulations, as well as SSM Health policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Master s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Illinois and Missouri
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, ANP, ACNP, etc.) by a recognized certifying body
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
