A New York City health services organization is currently seeking a Board certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join one of their facilities in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
- Department: EHS Department
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
- Conduct pre-employment physicals, performing a comprehensive health assessment of prospective employees to ensure that prospective employees are capable of performing their job functions and to discover real or potential health problems. .
- Order, perform, and evaluate diagnostic studies for employees with identified potential health problems or employees reporting for sick call; performs and monitors therapeutic procedures; assesses and/or manages follow-up plans; reports results of tests and treatments to appropriate personnel.
- Prescribe and regulates medications.
- Document all treatments, assessments, etc. in employee's medical chart.
- Administer annual Health Assessment process; reviews Health Assessment forms and investigates and/or follows up on incomplete information or potential problems; recommends follow-up or referral and follows up on referrals.
- Develop, conduct, and/or evaluate formal or informal inservice and continuing education programs, including new employee orientation, wellness programs.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current NYS licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Board Certification
- ANCC
- 2 years of related clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills
