Practice Description:
This is a job opportunity for a healthcare professional to work with Kaiser Permanente's version of EPIC, called Health Connect, as an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) specialist. The coverage dates for this position are from ASAP to the end of January 2024, with the possibility of an extension as needed.
The work schedule for this position is 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, but the client is open to some flexibility with occasional Saturday shifts. In return, the healthcare professional would have a day off during the week.
The role does not involve any on-call responsibilities, providing a better work-life balance.
The type of patients, cases, and procedures handled in this position would be focused on Family Medicine. The responsibilities include seeing patients in the clinic for various reasons, such as physical examinations, women's health issues, and managing chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes. Additionally, the professional would address same-day or urgent medical issues, including injuries and illnesses. Moreover, the role extends to employee health, where the professional will conduct health screenings for new employees, ensuring that all pre-hire screening criteria are met. There will also be tasks related to managing patient results and medication refills through KP Health Connect's 'in-basket.' In some cases, the healthcare professional may conduct telephone/video visits with patients.
The expected patient volume for this position is around 20 patients per day.
The healthcare professional will have full support staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Medical Assistants (MAs), and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs).
As for responsibilities over mid-level providers (such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants), there are no mentions, indicating that the professional will not be directly managing or supervising such providers.
Finally, the EM department has access to all necessary backup specialties, ensuring comprehensive patient care in any situation.
Overall, this is a rewarding opportunity for a healthcare professional to work with Kaiser Permanente and gain experience in a diverse range of Family Medicine cases while benefiting from a balanced work schedule and strong support staff.
