Job Description
*Location: Northern Alaska, in Arctic Ring
*Setting: Remote Wilderness Villages; underserved/native population; main facility is 17 bed inpatient ward; provide outpatient/emergency care; travel to remote clinics across Northern Alaska
*Start Date: ASAP; as soon as credentialed
*End Date: Ongoing
*Coverage: 6-8 weeks on, 2-4 weeks off; full-time; plane travel to remote villages;
*Requirements:
- Any active NP license; Alaska license is preferred and can be attained in a few weeks time
- Clean DEA & NPDB (no active suits, unresolved cases, or large payouts)
- Ability to practice solo with limited resources
- Commitment to serving native and underserved populations
- Long-term commitment - 6 months or more
- Must travel alone (no partners, family, friends, pets)
*If the provider does not have an AK license, they will be employed as a “Relief Provider”. This means that the provider will be paid directly by the client, and will be an employee. This is not a 1099 situation, and taxes/FICA will be deducted from paychecks. If the provider does have an AK license, they are treated as a 1099 Locums provider.
*Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 2 weeks or less
*Skills: Must be able to act as solo provider, limited resources, prepare critical patients for air transport; nearest medical center is 550 miles away
*EMR: Cerner
*Volume: unpredictable
*Please let me know your availability and the dates you are unavailable. If you want a specific schedule, such as 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 8 weeks on / 8 weeks off, etc. please let me know your preference.
*Travel & Lodging provided; air travel is the only way to get to the main facility and all of the other villages; Lodging is steps from the facilities
*Malpractice Insurance provided
