Job Summary:
The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (FNP/PA) provides professional medical services in the community health center setting. The FNP/PA will provide comprehensive medical services including family/adult practice services for all patients of the health center. The FNP/PA will collaborate with other health care professionals and with the Medical Director in the management of patients and their coordination, referral, and follow-up care.

Job Summary:
The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (FNP/PA) provides professional medical services in the community health center setting. The FNP/PA will provide comprehensive medical services including family/adult practice services for all patients of the health center. The FNP/PA will collaborate with other health care professionals and with the Medical Director in the management of patients and their coordination, referral, and follow-up care.
- Direct and indirect patient care including, but not limited to, observation of signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, or general physical condition, and determining of whether the signs, symptoms, reaction, behaviors, or general appearance exhibit abnormal characteristics; and implementation, based on observed abnormalities, of appropriate reporting, or referral, or standardized procedure, or changes in treatment regimen in accordance with standardized procedures, or the initiation of emergency procedures.
- Direct and redirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients; and the performance of disease prevention and restorative measures.
- The performance of skin tests, immunization techniques, and the withdrawal of blood from veins and arteries.
- Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and clinical judgment to provide appropriate care for clinic patients.
- Performs general physical examination as indicated and instructs patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Examines patients to determine the presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, ascertains nature and extent of illness and prescribes treatments as indicated.

Requirements:
- Graduate of Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Program
- Licensed to Practice in California
- DEA Certificate
- BLS Certification
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income persons
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish or another language
