Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

A hospital in New York City is looking for a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Emergency Medicine team.

About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Department: Emergency
• Hours: 7pm to 7am

Responsibilities:

• Perform history and physical examinations on ED patients
• Formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan
• Write orders for diagnostic tests, medications, consultations, immunizations, and clinic referrals
• Review, interpret, and document the results of the diagnostic tests ordered
• Implement treatment protocols and undertaking clinical decision-making under the supervision of an Emergency Medicine attending
• Complete and document participation in continuing medical education required of physician assistants
• Write prescriptions in accordance with hospital guidelines
• Counsel patients when appropriate on health education issues and disease prevention
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Completion of NYS-approved Physician Assistant (PA) program
• NYS Physician Assistant (PA) license
• NCCPA Certification
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
