Locum Physician Assistant (PA) Emergency Medicine job in Chattanooga, TN offering $90-$100 Hr. This Physician Assistant will assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of health conditions while promoting wellness and disease prevention.

- Additional Details: Candidate Parameters Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? o PA-C or Licensed as an NP Experience level? o At least 2 years of ED Hospital/unit questions Number of beds? o 25 ED Beds Census? o 195/day How many daily admissions? o 40/day Are there any consults and if so, how many per day? o Yes, 5 per day What s the patient population? o All age groups with 95% being adult Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? o Not a trauma center o CHF, COPD, Abdominal pain, Strokes, Heart Attack. (General EM case load) o High Acuity What does the support staff look like? o Nursing Techs, transport How will follow up cases be handled? (when applicable- inpatient or outpatient) o Referrals to outpatient. Specialty Specific Questions: Emergency Medicine What are the shift times? o 8a – 6p o 9a-9p o 3p-1a Is call involved? o No call What procedures are required? o Suturing, I&D, reductions (assisted by physician) What does the support staff include? o Vital signs, lab draws, Transportation What is the average patient census? o 96/day What are the most common cases the locum will see? o URI, cough, cold, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, extremity injuries Annual ER admissions? o 25% Does the unit use robots? If so, what kind? o Just for tele neurology/psych How often are the locums called back on site if on call? o No Call How many EM physicians are typically on staff per shift? o 1-2
