We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. This role primarily covers night shifts (7p-7a) with the flexibility to work at both Facilities. The PA will provide comprehensive emergency care for a wide range of patient cases, focusing on lower acuity patients, minor procedures, and administrative support.
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department.
- Manage lower acuity patients while collaborating with the on-site physician for critical cases.
- Perform minor procedures such as incision & drainage (I&D), laceration repairs, and wound care.
- Conduct radiology reviews, blood work assessments, and documentation as needed.
- Assist with triage and technical responsibilities when required.
- Maintain NIHSS Stroke Certification and complete annual Stroke CME & EMTALA education.
Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience required.
Active Pennsylvania PA license required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (must be through AHA or Red Cross), Stroke Certification.
DEA license not required.
ATLS not required.
Must be local enough to drive in (travel expenses available for mileage, lodging, parking, rental car, and ground transportation)
Working Hours
Shifts available: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 7p-7a.
Approximately 1-2 patients per hour per provider.
Full privileges & temporary privileges available (90-day credentialing process).
Collaborative team environment with 24/7 trauma services, intensivists, and specialty consultants on call.
No on-call requirements.
Skills
Ability to perform minor procedures such as laceration repairs, I&Ds, and wound care.
Strong understanding of emergency protocols, including stroke and cardiac care.
Familiarity with emergency medical equipment and techniques.
Critical Thinking & Decision-Making:
Ability to rapidly assess patients and make quick, informed decisions in a high-pressure environment.
Strong problem-solving skills to determine the best course of treatment.
Communication & Collaboration:
Clear and effective communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
Ability to comfort and educate patients and their families about treatment plans.
Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency situations.
