We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants for a locum opportunity in Central Pennsylvania. This position offers a chance to work in Emergency Medicine across two locations, providing high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Details:

  • Location: Central Pennsylvania (must work at two sites 45-55 minutes apart).
  • Specialty: Emergency Medicine.
  • Dates: March 31, 2025 – September 30, 2025, with potential to extend.
  • Schedule:
    • Primarily night shifts (7p-7a).
    • Occasional day shifts (7a-7p or 9a-9p, rare).
    • 5-6 shifts per month.
  • Patient Load: 1-2 patients per hour.
  • Case Mix: 80% Adult, 20% Pediatric.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide range of ED patients with a focus on lower acuity cases.
  • Perform minor procedures such as incision and drainage (I&D) and laceration repairs.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians who manage critical cases (e.g., STEMI, stroke).
  • Review radiology and lab results as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active PA license.
  • Board Certification.
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA or Red Cross certified).
  • NIHSS Stroke Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience.

Support & Resources:

  • Always paired with an attending physician during shifts.
  • 24/7 trauma service on-site.
  • Extensive on-call specialty support, including cardiology (with cath lab), neurology, orthopedics, OBGYN, and more.
  • EMR system: Cerner.

Travel & Lodging:

  • Candidates must be local enough to drive in.
  • Mileage, rental car, and lodging will be covered if needed.
