The Opportunity
- Seeking Emergency Department/Urgent Care Center physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
- At least one (1) year of EM experience is preferred but will consider a strong new grad or someone with urgent care experience.
- Current national certification, DEA, ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
- Current IN state license is a plus.
- Providers will split some time at Valparaiso Health and may be cross credentialed at Community Hospital and St. Catherine Hospital.
The Practice
St. Mary Medical Center - Hobart, Indiana
- One of four non-profit hospitals that comprises the Community Healthcare System, Indiana's largest integrated healthcare system.
- Comprehensive Stroke Center and STEMI Center.
- 200-bed community hospital with a 32-bed Emergency Department.
- Annual volume of 39k with a medium to high acuity patient mix.
- Epic EMR with Fluency direct.
Community Hospital - Munster, Indiana
- Comprehensive Stroke Center and Accredited Chest Pain Center.
- 445-bed hospital with 32 Emergency Department beds plus 15 hallway beds.
- Annual volume of 70K with a 30% admit rate.
- Epic EMR with M-Modal Dictation.
- 24-hour RADS coverage, psychiatric social workers, case managers, physical therapists, and social workers also on site.

St. Catherine Hospital - East Chicago, Illinois
- Part of the Community Healthcare System, which is comprised of four not-for-profit hospitals.
- Comprehensive Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, and STEMI Receiving Center.
- 19-bed Emergency Department with a 10-15% admit rate.
- Epic EMR with dictation.
- Great relationship with specialists and admitting.
