Are you a clinician who aims to make a difference in the lives of your patients by providing quality care? TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a physician assistant (PA) to join our emergency department (ED) team full-time at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona and Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, in the observation unit of the EDs. Banner Gateway Medical Center ED sees an annual patient volume of 40,000 and has an admission rate of 18%. The 25-bed observation unit has 24 hours of APC coverage working 12-hour shifts. Banner Baywood Medical Center ED sees an annual patient volume of 45,000 and has an admission rate of 25% and has a 26-bed observation unit with 24 hours of APC coverage in 12-hour shifts.
This is a fast-paced unit that works in close collaboration with the emergency department, consultants, support staff of the unit, and Banner administrative physicians. Types of cases include, cardiac, neurological, surgical, medical, and include trauma, overdoses, and even some psychiatric disorders. There is 24/7 supervising physician oversight, and on-site emergency physician and hospitalist in-house coverage. Significant clinical experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, cardiology or critical care as well as ACLS certification is required. We are not considering new graduates at this time.
