To prospective teammates,

I’m the regional medical director for Montefiore Westchester Square, located in The Bronx, New York. I have been a part of Sound for eight years. I’m proud of the emergency medicine practice we have built, and I welcome interest from physician assistants coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People
  • We are a closely-knit, established team of physicians with strong PA leadership.
  • Our group comes from various areas in the Tri-state Area -NYC, NJ, and Hudson Valley.
  • I am involved in all medical staff meetings and committees.
Practice
  • Thrive in New York’s first free-standing emergency department.
  • Cater to a diverse patient population with a low-volume ED with high acuity directly, providing a dynamic and challenging work environment.
  • Single physician coverage ensures a focused an independent approach to medical decision-making and treatment provision.
  • We maintain strong connections through team meetings bi-monthly.
  • Recognizing the importance of family and spending time outdoors, we offer a flexible schedule. We’re always there to support each other when covering shifts.
  • The expected annual compensation for this role is between $124k – $144k, depending upon experience.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.

The Bronx offers rich cultural diversity, vibrant neighborhoods, and access to beautiful parks like the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden, making it an appealing place to live for many.
