Start Date: November 2024
Credentialing: 30-120 days
Schedule: 7 to 10 shifts/month (1 Shift = 24 hours)
Call: 24/7 call coverage
Details: 25 bed Critical Access Hospital
- Average ED Census: 4-8 per 24-hours
- Annual ED Volume: 1800 per year
- Inpatient weekly- 12
Ancillary Support?
RT: M-F
Imaging: M-F and on call
Lab: M-F and on call
Mobile imaging weekly or as needed
2 clinics with physicians and NP’s
Services:
- RT/CT: Monday-Friday
- M-F 7:30a – 5p: ultrasound on call
- Interdisciplinary Team Meeting every morning.
Acuity: Without ICU, so acuity is limited to patients able to be stabilized in the ED and managed on med/surg nursing floor
Subspecialty Support: No specialty support in the hospital.
EMR: Epic
Experience + Qualifications
- Willing to accept new grads
- Training and experience in the inpatient setting
- Ability to perform all procedures
- Active ID License or the ability to obtain

- Independent Contractor (1099)

- Provider accommodations: furnished by the hospital in-house. Room or suite with standardized contents
Job Responsibilities
Examining and treating all persons who present themselves at the Hospital's emergency department for care or treatment regardless of their ability to pay or economic status;
Providing timely and appropriate care to emergency department patients;
Responding in a timely manner to requests for needed assistance initiated within the Hospital by an authorized person in life and/or limb threatening emergencies of hospitalized patients;
Responding to inpatient cardiac and/or respiratory arrests as emergently needed as per ACLS protocol;
*Communicating any Hospital admission to the patient's primary care physician;
*Attending to persons injured in the Hospital and Hospital personnel with job related injuries, illness or exposure; and
*Providing all ED Coverage in compliance with the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act and all related regulations, and Hospital and Medical Staff policies and procedures
Admitting patients from the ED
Rounding and caring for the entirety of the inpatient service
Responding to all codes and rapid responses
Attending meetings while on shift
Leading interdisciplinary team meetings
Understanding utility of Swing Bed program and champion this program for hospital
Staying within town limits while on-shift (Maximum response time to hospital is 20 minutes.)
