Job Description
A north-central Wisconsin private surgical practice that has a patient draw from a 13-county region throughout Northcentral Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan is currently looking for a Trauma / Acute Care Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant will assume a primary provider role in the care of patients in a hospital setting.
The Position:
- Analyzes findings to create assessments, initiate treatment plans, and make referrals; performs diagnostics and prescribes treatments for medical and surgical issues.
- Orders and interprets lab tests, administers treatments, and performs routine procedures, including first aid and wound care, while collaborating with physicians.
- Develops and evaluates treatment plans, monitors patient outcomes, and ensures safety and quality standards in care.
- Provides cross coverage of Surgical First Role within the operating room (minimal)
- Completes Hospital rounds with Trauma and Acute Care attending physicians daily. Afternoon rounds may be independent, but MD updates are expected.
- Schedule: 2 then 3 - 12 hour shifts (11am-7pm) M-F and 2 -12 hour shifts (7am-7pm) every other weekend

Apply if you Have…
- An Active and Unencumbered Physician Assistant License in the state of Wisconsin
- A Masters Degree in Science, Physician Assistant Studies
- Certification by National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
- Acute Care or Trauma Surgery experience (preferred)
- Experience with Epic Software (preferred)
