Facility in Peoria, IL seeking Cardiology PA-c locums coverage

Rates: $170/hr

Position Details

• Start Date: January 19, 2025

• Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)

  • Estimated 20 shifts per month

  • No overtime or on-call responsibilities

• Patient Management:

  • Census: 8+ post-operative cardiac ICU patients

  • Rounds with surgeons and charge RNs daily

  • Frequent interdisciplinary team collaboration with nursing staff and other providers

• Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of ventilators, vasopressors/inotropes, arrhythmias, and devices such as VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, post-transplant care, and VAD.

  • Perform procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions/removals, intubations/extubations, chest tube management, and pacing wire handling.

  • Provide comprehensive post-operative care and oversee EVH sites, sternotomy sites, and medications.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Illinois license required.

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year as a cardiovascular APP, ICU experience preferred.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in managing critical care scenarios, including ventilators, cardiac support devices, and complex medical management.

  • Competency in performing ICU-related procedures independently.
