Our client, a nationally renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Thoracic Surgery team in a non-OR role. This position focuses on inpatient and outpatient thoracic patient care, procedural management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. New graduates with a strong interest in thoracic surgery are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient evaluations, history & physical exams, and follow-up visits
- Manage pre- and post-operative patient care for thoracic surgery patients
- Perform procedures including:
- Chest tube management and removal
- Thoracentesis
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Suture/staple removal
- Drain and catheter management
- Pleural catheter placement and management
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified (PA-C) and licensed (or eligible) in New York
- New graduates with a strong interest in thoracic surgery are welcome to apply
- Strong clinical skills, procedural competency, and a passion for thoracic medicine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with a team
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
