Responsibilities:

• Provide cardiovascular and thoracic care in an inpatient setting
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, including 24-hour call shifts
• Assist with open heart cases and perform vascular procedures
• Take veins for surgical procedures as required
• Provide medical management and follow-up for cardiac and vascular patients
• Collaborate with the cardiology and thoracic surgery team to provide high-quality patient care
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Perform procedures related to cardiovascular and thoracic care, including vascular access
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Ensure patient safety and infection control standards are followed
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education

Requirements:

• Board Certification/License: Must have an active Wyoming Medical License (or IMLC eligible)
• Experience: Must be experienced in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, particularly vein harvesting
• Certifications:
  • CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) Certification (up to date)
  • DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Registration (up to date)
• Trauma Experience: Experience with trauma level care (preferred)
• Call and Shift Requirements: Ability to take 24-hour call with 8 hours of on-site coverage
• Procedures Required: Ability to take veins for procedures
• Patient Load: Ideal candidate will manage 1 open-heart case per day, with additional vascular/cardiac call
• Patient Population: Inpatient cardiology and thoracic surgery patients
