ECU Health Physicians and The Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, located in Greenville, NC, are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide acute patient care of thoracic surgery patients. Nurse practitioners must be certified as a FNP, ANP, AGNP or ACNP. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Highlights include:

· Employment by ECU Health Physicians

· Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center

· Growing 9 hospital system

· Established Thoracic Surgery division inclusive of 5 thoracic surgeons and 3 thoracic advanced practice providers.

· Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities will include participation in daily patient rounds with the interdisciplinary team, consults, admission history and physical examinations, ongoing patient assessments and post-operative patient care, as well as pre and postoperative care in a clinic setting.

· Schedule includes (4) 10hr shifts per week

· No nights, no call

· System-wide EHR is EPIC

· ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required

East Carolina Heart Institute
The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center is eastern North Carolina’s preferred facility for cardiovascular services. The six-story, 375,000-square-foot tower houses clinical space, diagnostic services, and cardiovascular operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room. It features 120 beds for patients undergoing procedures for cardiac medicine, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery.
