This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant to join a premier cardiovascular team, providing locum coverage for the Structural Heart Team during a maternity leave. In this full-time role, you’ll work within a highly respected cardiology program, delivering specialized care for patients with structural heart conditions. The assignment is set to start in February, pending credentialing, and offers weekday hours with no weekends, ensuring a balanced work schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans, including pre- and post-procedure management, patient education, and discharge planning.
Participate in team discussions, case reviews, and care coordination to optimize patient outcomes.
Accurately document patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in Epic EMR.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care, supporting both outpatient and inpatient cardiology services as needed.
Qualifications
NCCPA certification and relevant cardiology experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiology, with a preference for experience in structural heart care.
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cardiac care team.
Prior experience with structural heart patients or in an advanced cardiology setting.
Familiarity with Epic EMR is beneficial but not required.
Previous locum or temporary assignment experience is advantageous.
Working Hours
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with options for 8-hour shifts or a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule.
Support Staff: Collaborate within a well-supported team, with experienced cardiac care providers and support staff.
Skills
This locum assignment offers weekday hours only, with no weekend or on-call requirements, providing a stable and predictable schedule. Credentialing is underway, and immediate availability is preferred for a February start.
