Job Description
Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine (WCVM) located in the picturesque Northern Virginia Shenandoah Valley is seeking an experienced Cardiology Advanced Practice Clinician, specializing in Electrophysiology, to join their team of 21 board certified Cardiologists and 11 cardiology advanced practice clinicians.
About our Practice
- WCVM resides in a state-of-the-art office built in 2020. The 30,000 sq. ft. clinic connects to the cardiovascular lab and inpatient hospital. In addition, we have satellite clinics in Martinsburg W.V. and provide outreach services at Valley Health Multi-specialty clinics. WCVM leases its professional services to Valley Health through a professional service lease arrangement.
- Our team includes interventional cardiologists, non-invasive cardiologists, an advanced heart failure specialist, a structural heart specialist and electrophysiologists. At Winchester Medical Center, we provide cardiovascular consultative and procedural services.
- We utilize EPIC as our EMR both in the clinic and hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will join our EP team of 3 Electrophysiologists and 2 APPs specializing in EP. Our EP team, specializes in diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and management, catheter ablations, left atrial appendage procedures, and implantation of loop recorders
This position offers a collaborative team approach with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. Responsibilities include:
Participate in inpatient evaluation of patients with cardiac rhythm problems in conjunction with the electrophysiologist.
Outpatient follow up and management of patients with various rhythm problems including initiating and managing antiarrhythmic and anticoagulation therapies, and triage of patients with acute problems, including office evaluation.
Provision of pre and post procedure care and education for patients undergoing pacemaker or ICD implantation, ablation, LAAO implant, lead extraction, and cardioversion. Strong skills in device interrogations and EKG interpretation required.
Strong understanding of CMS guidelines for all EP services and participation in peer to peer insurance authorizations as needed.
WCVM is a private practice leased by Valley Valley health consists of 6 hospitals with Winchester Medical Center being the largest at nearly 500 beds.
WCVM utilizes a care team model pairing 1 APC with 1 - 2 physicians.
