Mercy Bariatrics and Weight Management is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to evaluate and manage patients undergoing general and bariatric surgery, as well as those participating in weight loss programs. This full-time role focuses on exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and a collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assessing new surgical patients for both general and bariatric procedures, developing comprehensive and individualized care plans, and providing expert post-operative management to ensure optimal recovery. The APC will conduct hospital rounds twice a week, supplementing office consultations as needed, and will build and manage a panel of weight loss patients, overseeing both new consultations and ongoing follow-up care. Additionally, the role includes occasional on-call responsibilities to provide coverage as necessary.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have completed an accredited Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) program, such as a Master’s in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies, and hold relevant certifications. Proven clinical expertise in evaluating surgical candidates and managing post-operative care is essential, along with specialized knowledge and sensitivity in bariatric healthcare. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Working Hours

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, balancing hospital rounds with office-based patient consultations in a professional, inclusive, and supportive environment.
