Credentialing Timeframe: 45-90 days – no temps or emergency privs available
1. This is an MD directed model with a clear set of escalation guidelines (circumstances under which a phone call is expected to the Attending).
2. They must be comfortable working with residents.
***Orientation requirements - The initial start needs to be two full weeks. They need 4 10 hour shifts for orientation their 1st week. Any deviation from this schedule has to be disclosed up front and approved.***
1. Hours are highly likely to be needed, but are not guaranteed (per shift or per week).
2. Hours over 40 are NOT guaranteed. Even if scheduled hours exceed 40 hours in one week, those hours may be canceled without notice. Every effort will be made to plan the schedule and avoid cancellations, however, hours over 40 will not be scheduled or paid without a clinical need.
3. No Overtime; $260 flat rate for all hours worked; Any requests to schedule greater than 40 hours in advance will not be paid at an overtime rate (may be reduced to $240 per hour for candidates referred to Aya from VCU Health).
4. No Holiday pay; $260 flat rate for all hours worked (may be reduced to $240 per hour for candidates referred to Aya from VCU Health). There are some holidays available, but those are optional on an as available basis and not required.
5. The current hours of coverage are from Monday through Friday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. with occasional need until 11 p.m.
6. There are some weekends available, but those are on an as available basis and not required.
7. Shifts are 4 - 10 hour shifts or 3 - 12 hour shifts (preferences will be accommodated to the extent possible, but not guaranteed)
8. CRNAs will be scheduled a minimum of 2 or more out of 4 Fridays every four weeks based on the needs of the schedule.
9. CRNAs have the option to cluster their schedule (4-10s in a row or 3-12s in a row to facilitate their travel)
10. Locums are expected to lodge at the hotels affiliated with VCU Health at the Health Systems pre-negotiated, discounted rate or a more economical alternative. If affiliated hotels are not used, the nightly rate may not exceed $160 / night.
11. Please include requested vacation dates for the duration of the contract in the initial confirmation documents.
12. Any CRNA deemed to not meet clinical competency requirements will have their contract ended with no notice requirement.
13. Scheduled dates of work are to be determined in collaboration with the CRNA and CRNA Scheduler, Belinda Cook [Register to View]
14. All Locums CRNA hired at VCU Health must complete all required provider enrollment paperwork in a timely fashion in order to continue working and be paid under this confirmation agreement.
15. Locums CRNAs are provided a 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily. Their lunch break is denoted by a ""yes"" on their timesheet which is their attestation that lunch was offered and taken. Invoices should not include bills for unpaid lunch breaks.
They have very strict OR policies:
No nail polish
No fake nails
No bare below the elbow
No jewelry
Must use clothing issued by the OR
Scrubs must cover all under clothing
Must have wipeable shoes or wear shoe covers (provided by the hospital)
