Schedule: 4, 10-hour shifts per week
Weekend Requirement: 1 in 6 weekends (rotational)
Setting: Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center
Role: Trauma Service Team, no ICU responsibilities
Job Description:
Seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its high-performing Trauma Service Team. This position involves the disposition of trauma patients from the Emergency Room (ER) and hospital floor. With the support of the hospital-based Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and EMS partners, the trauma center serves a 125-mile radius, including Virginia s Northern Neck and North Carolina s Outer Banks.
Responsibilities:
Provide care to trauma patients in collaboration with trauma surgeons and other healthcare providers
Manage trauma patients from admission to discharge, excluding ICU-level care
Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
Document patient information using the Epic EHR system
Qualifications:
Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Virginia
Acute Care Certification required for NPs
Experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or critical care preferred
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
