Position Overview
Excel Orthopaedic Specialists is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a hospital-based role involving inpatient rounding, emergency room (ER) consultations, and first-assisting in the operating room (OR). The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence in orthopedics and foster strong collaborative relationships with hospital staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Inpatient Care: Conduct daily rounds, assess patient progress, manage treatment plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care
ER Consultations: Respond promptly to consults, assess musculoskeletal injuries, and collaborate with ER physicians
Surgical Assistance: Serve as the first assistant in orthopedic surgeries, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless patient care
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies
Patient Education: Provide clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment options, postoperative care, and rehabilitation
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program
Current certification as a PA-C or NP (orthopedic experience preferred)
Active state licensure to practice in Massachusetts
Minimum of [X] years of clinical experience in orthopedics, including inpatient care, ER consultations, and surgical first-assisting
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and therapeutic intervention skills
