This role involves first-assisting in surgery, perioperative care, admission and discharges, fracture care, and wound care. The team has a strong history of excellence, including a Physician Assistant training program that has been active for over 25 years. Role: Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Location: New Britain, CT Setting: Inpatient, subspecialty surgery Schedule: Full-time, rotating 27/13-hour shifts, allowing for significant work-life balance Call schedule: No additional call Support & Development: Dedicated support through the Office of Advanced Practice Access to cutting-edge clinical technology like EPIC for streamlined care Established mentorship and orientation programs for new providers Leadership and professional development opportunities through specialized learning platforms and training programs Scope of Practice: Perform routine physical exams and develop treatment plans Collaborate with physicians and specialists for further evaluations Provide appropriate treatments within the scope of practice and refer as needed Qualifications: Required: Unrestricted Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility) Physician Assistant certification or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certification RNFA certification (for Nurse Practitioners) Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting
