**NP Radiation Oncology Opening in Beloit, WI**
- Located in Southern WI - 75 miles from Milwaukee and 100 miles from Chicago
**Position Details:**
- Seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team.
- As a Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations, to determine eligibility and suitability for radiation therapy.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologist to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical condition, treatment goals, and potential side effects.
- Administer radiation therapy treatments, including external beam radiation, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patients during radiation therapy sessions, assess for adverse reactions or side effects, and provide appropriate interventions and support.
- Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process, including treatment expectations, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as medical physicists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
- Accurately and efficiently document patient information, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to radiation oncology nursing practice.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and research, and apply evidence-based practice in patient care.
**Requirements:**
- Master's degree in Nursing or a Doctorate
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Prior experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a radiation oncology setting.
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare software.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in radiation oncology.
