Novant Health is seeking an experienced Bariatric Advanced Practice Provider to join a large Bariatric program of 3 physicians and 7 APPs that serve 7 offices within the Greater Charlotte area. This position will serve our surgical and non-surgical Bariatric patients. This role will work alongside our Physicians seeing patients. We offer a multidimensional approach for lifelong weight control by providing patients nutritional, psychological and exercise education along with support throughout each stage of our patient's weight loss journey. We are looking for a patient-focused, compassionate, caring, and honest provider to assist in the surgical and non-surgical medical management of obesity. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a care team approach, educating patients and is committed to the health and wellness of not only our patients but the communities from which they come. Our program focuses on patient care as well as team member care. Our team supports each other and welcomes personal and professional growth. We are looking for a provider who wants to grow and bring creative and innovative ways to care for our patients and grow our program. Experience with Bariatrics and surgical assist preferred. RNFA certification required for NP's or ability to obtain by 12/31/2024.

Our expert surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work collaboratively to provide remarkable care to our operative and non-operative patients. The selected APP will be responsible for performing a variety of functions under the supervision of our surgeons. These functions, though not all-inclusive, include seeing patients in the clinic setting, performing office procedures, surgical assisting in the operating room, and rounding at our acute facilities.

The Greater Charlotte market consists of an uptown city environment that is complimented by a small-town feel. The GCM is in the process of expanding their public transportation to make commuting easier. We have thriving retail and access to the arts and theater in all markets, and a variety of restaurants to meet everyone's taste and preference. Mild weather allows for all year around access to parks, lakes, and the National White-Water Center. The GCM is located 3.5 hours away from the NC & SC east coast beaches and 2 hours away from the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master's NP program required.

Experience: One year of experience in Bariatrics preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registery with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required. RNFA certification required for NP's or ability to obtain by 12/31/2024.

Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
