**Physician Assistant-Addiction Treatment Services opening in NY**
**Located in Syracuse**
**Full Time Position**
Health System is looking for Addiction Treatment Physician Assistant.
Physician Assistant's (P.A.) practice in collaboration with the Attending Physician, as direct health care providers. P.A.'s work with patients and their families to coordinate the delivery of the patient's care throughout hospitalization. P.A. responsibilities include, but are not limited to: obtaining health histories and performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment regimens, providing patient, family, nursing staff, resident and medical student education and being available for consultations and crisis intervention. P.A.'s work closely with the patient/significant others/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team to develop an appropriate plan of care and communicate it effectively. The Physician Assistant will practice within the guidelines of the written practice agreement and practice protocols.
The Addiction Treatment Services PA will be covering all areas of the ATS service line including the program of the Medical Group. Responsibilities will include providing history & physical assessments, and assessing emerging medical needs of the patients. This position will entail the participation in a multidisciplinary treatment team to assist in medical emergencies.
**Education/Experience Requirements**
Required: Graduate of an accredited PA program. NCCPA board certification, NYS license or qualification for state licensure is required. Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications. Experience in addiction medicine preferred, however open to new graduate applicants. Hold and maintain all required certifications to practice in an OASAS certified addiction program (Only required for P.A.s working with Addiction Treatment Services).
