Job Description
The University of Missouri Department of Pediatrics seeks to expand its expertise in immunomodulation and translational research, by hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure-track
position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a competitive and extramurally-funded research program using innovative
approaches for the treatment of type 1 diabetes. - Establish a research program with a particular focus on beta cell replacement therapy using
pancreatic islets or beta cells derived from stem cells. - Work independently and in collaboration with the faculty of the Immunomodulation and
Translational Research Program to support the objective of becoming a nationally
recognized program seeking a cure for type 1 diabetes. - Collaborate with the Faculty of Department of Pediatrics, and other MU units on research of
mutual interest to promote the Institution‘s academic and research mission. - Participate in university services as needed.
- Teaching responsibilities may vary based on the Department's needs and include delivering
lectures, and seminars, supervising and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows
during clinical rotations, and overseeing research projects conducted by graduate students,
postdocs, and junior researchers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification: PhD
Canidates will be evaluated on: a distinguished record in research relevant to type 1 diabetes or immunomodulation
