We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dedicated Wound Care team in Bloomington, IN! This role is a supplemental position that would cover full-time provider time off.

Position Details:

  • Per Diem
    • Day Shift, 8:00am-5:30pm
  • No call, weekends, or holidays
  • 100% outpatient
  • Team includes 1 physician and 1 nurse practitioners
  • Patient volume in clinic is 30/day
  • Will require training in hyperbaric treatments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position will focus on the treatment of complicated or non-healing wounds for primarily adult patients (some pediatric HBO referrals)
  • Provider will primarily see return patients and new referrals in the clinic setting
  • Evaluate, assess and treat patients with physician consultation as needed
  • Order entry for medications and outpatient testing
  • Provider will be a resource for nurses covering daily nurse visits and office staff
  • Procedures include surgical debridement, biopsies, and chemical cauterizations to optimize wound healing

Qualifications:

  • FNP or PA certification required
  • Ideal candidate has Wound Care experience along with higher acuity inpatient experience (critical care or emergency medicine)
  • Experience giving over-sight required for HBO therapy is a plus

Hospital Overview

The new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and Regional Academic Health Center opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.
