IU Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Urology team at IU North Hospital in Carmel, IN!

Position Details:

  • Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
  • Monday 10am-5pm; Thursday 10am-5pm; Friday 7am-5pm
  • 100% inpatient
  • Patient volume: 40/week
  • Patient population: Adult postoperative urologic care patients as well as patients requiring ER or inpatient consult for urology care
  • Team includes 25 physicians and 20 APPs.
  • Procedures include: difficult catheter placements, drain removal, possible cystoscopy

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the care of minor and major urologic surgical patients as they recover from surgery and move towards discharge
  • Participate in admission of primary urology patients as well as consultations from the ER and from other inpatient services
  • Assume care for all type of acute care needs occurring during the weekday shift, and coordinate care as staffing transitions to the on-call team during the evening
  • Understanding and adherence to established guidelines and surveillance protocols is a must
  • Provide counseling regarding management of chronic urologic conditions, discuss surgical options, manage postoperative patients
  • Maintain timely documentation, be actively involved with practice initiatives, and pursue specialty-specific learning opportunities

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, AGNP, CNS, FNP, or PA board eligible or certified
  • APP experience is required
  • Prior urology or inpatient medicine experience is preferred
