About this role:

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Advanced Practice Provider; APP) in Critical Care Medicine, you will primarily work in the Shock, Trauma, Respiratory ICU at Intermountain Medical Center, and in the Tele-ICU, as an equal member of a multi-disciplinary team supporting advanced therapies for complex critically ill patients, including acute medical, respiratory, and cardiovascular patients.

Intermountain Medical Center is the premier academic medical center and flagship quaternary hospital for Intermountain Health. This state-of-the-art facility currently has 96 ICU beds and 4 specialized ICUs, and is in process of expanding. Intermountain Medical Center is ranked #1 in the United States for MI survival treatment and is a Three Star STS Cardiac Surgery Hospital.

In this role you can anticipate:

  • Practicing at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
  • 12 12-hour shifts per month; including a mix of days, nights (3-5 per month), weekends, holidays, and tele-critical care shifts
  • No call expectation
  • Including relocation assistance if relocating 50+ miles

What you’ll bring:

  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
  • Board certification or eligibility
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy (e.g., frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation).

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Walks and assists with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment (e.g., pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items). Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms full of equipment, with power cords on the floor.

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$54.84 - $84.63
