Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in providing comprehensive medical care to patients in an urgent care setting. This role involves working under the direction of a supervising physician to deliver high-quality care in accordance with established medical standards, procedures, and practices in New York State. The NP/PA will collaborate with insurance companies to ensure accurate billing and payment for services, demonstrating a thorough understanding of Federal and New York State regulations related to the scope of practice. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payor policies and evaluation and management services guidelines is essential. The role also involves maintaining electronic medical records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and timely, thus supporting continuity of patient care. As a key member of our team, the NP/PA will serve as a professional role model, promoting service excellence to both internal and external customers.
Education, Licensure, and Certification
- Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of an accredited NP program or equivalent per New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations. Must hold a current NYS license with registration. National certification is preferred.
- Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited PA program or equivalent per NYSDOH regulations. Must hold a current NYS license with registration. National certification is preferred.
- Additional Requirements: Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) coursework.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in an urgent care or emergency department setting.
Compensation
**Pay Rate:** $55 to $70 per hour
Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and other relevant factors.
