Job Summary:

Join our team at Optimum Care Hospitalist Group in Oklahoma City, OK, as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) dedicated to delivering high-quality urgent care services during evening and weekend shifts. This position offers an opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of urgent medical conditions. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments to determine urgent care needs.
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and infections.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and minor surgical interventions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on clinical guidelines and patient needs.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records using electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to practice protocols, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide patient-centred care with empathy and compassion.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in Oklahoma, or Current Physician Assistant license and certification in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing urgent care procedures and managing urgent medical conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work some evening shifts during weekdays and weekends as scheduled.
