Position: Urgent Care/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This unique role involves working in both our Immediate Care Clinic and Primary Care practice. The Nurse Practitioner will spend 3.5 days per week in the Immediate Care Clinic, dedicated to treating patients of our practice, and will have a half day of administrative time and a half day dedicated to Primary Care.


Immediate Care Clinic Responsibilities (3.5 days/week):

  • Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments
  • Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and injuries
  • Prescribing medications and treatments as necessary
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Collaborating with medical assistants and other support staff to deliver efficient patient care

Primary Care Responsibilities (0.5 days/week):

  • Managing a typical primary care patient load, including annual physicals, sick and well visits
  • Diagnosing and treating chronic illnesses
  • Providing patient education and counseling on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Coordinating care with specialists and other healthcare providers

Administrative Responsibilities (0.5 days/week):

  • Managing patient records and documentation
  • Coordinating with other healthcare providers and administrative staff
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or urgent care setting
  • Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to function autonomously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
