Locum Vascular Surgery NP - NY

NP/PA – Vascular Surgery Opportunity - Syracuse, NY

Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a vascular surgery locum assignment from August 1, 2025 – October 31, 2025 to cover paternity leave.

Position Details:

• Location: Syracuse, NY
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based (No outpatient/clinic)
• Schedule: 24/7 coverage with 10-12 hour shifts
  • Typical shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 AM - 5 PM, 9 AM - 9 PM, 7 PM/9 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend Call: Covers the opposite shift (e.g., if working 7 AM - 7 PM, covers 7 PM - 7 AM call)
• Weekday Call: Approximately one overnight OR call per week
• Patient Load:
  • 3-5 patients per day for rounding
  • 3-5 OR cases per day
• EMR System: EPIC

Responsibilities:

• Pre-Op Physical Exams
• Suture Removal
• Diagnosing & Treating Illnesses
• Ordering & Interpreting Tests
• Assisting in Surgery
• Writing Prescriptions
• Coordinating Patient Care
• Rounding & Managing Inpatient Cases
• Removal of Permcaths/CVCs

Requirements:

• Board Certified (NCCPA, ANCC/AANP) – NP must have RNFA certification
• Active NY License
• BLS & ACLS Certification
• Vascular Surgery/Cardiothoracic Operative Experience Required
• Comfortable Managing Inpatient/Internal Medicine Cases (HTN, Diabetes, Medical Management)

Additional Details:

• Supervising Physician: Available on-call 24/7
• Patient Demographic: Adults 18+ (No pediatrics)
